We recommend only replacing the glass gasket if you are replacing the glass itself, for a couple of reasons. Over time, the glass will become more brittle. We have many a customer call and tell us that they have broken the glass because they were removing to either clean the glass or replacing the glass gasket. The other reason I wouldn’t mess with it is because the glass can get kind of creosoted into the frame, and by removing it you can damage the glass.
